GoOnThen
I have a Rivea corymbosa that I planted out around a year ago. I have it growing up a tree and it is showing in the new growth what looks like the start of flower buds. Can anyone that has a Rivea that has flowered tell me what season it flowered in and also what area you are in as I think it could be different in the tropics compered to sub tropical.I thought it would struggle to flower in my climate so it will be interesting to see what happens.CheersGot
quarterflesh
I think they should be flowering and setting seed now. From past experience.

mr b.caapi
Yep, never had any luck getting my Rivea to flower. (3 years old ) and have never had any luck with HBWR either. Plenty of healthy growth, just no flowers

Scientician
My vine started flowering this week & I think I still have a couple of hundred seeds from last year somewhere. If I locate them I can put some packs up for a give away if anyone is interested.I brought my vine down with me when I moved from Cairns but the original seeds were sourced from a vendor on the gold coast via ebay.
Wameron36
Mine have also started flowering this week. They're opening up and looking beautiful. I'm in Townsville. Both plants are nearly 2 years old and still in pots, roots heading into the ground though. One flowered towards the end of last year also. Though I moved house and lost a lot of that plant since it had grown all between the fence in some tight crevices. It's slowly building up again though. The other plant was on tiles at that point and so never really took off, but now that it's been moved and onto dirt at the new place it's gone nuts! GoOnThen
Thanks for the infoI would think that these buds will probably abort. The only hope I think I have is it is growing on the north side of the tree so it mite stay warm enough for another month to keep them growing but actually flowering is doubtful.CheersGot
GoOnThen
Well it surprised me and it has been flowering for the last few weeks. The flowers are very small but hey they are flowers. CheersGot
Wameron36
Pretty! The smell of these is quite lovely alsoDo the flowers vary from plant to plant a bit? Both plants of mine had a dark centre with a red/orange patch, which I can't see in yours.
GoOnThen
Nice I think I was lucky to get any flowers and the ones that did open were very small so I am thinking that due to my climate not being ideal the flowers could be slightly deformed which could be the reason they are missing the dark throat. I have had a hunt around for some pics of the plant ( Gomaos RIP ) the seeds came from and they did have a dark throat.CheersGot
