stjimi Posted November 14, 2012 (edited) This place is serioulsy a fountain of knowledge! I can't stop browsing.. After getting to know Cacti in SOuth American it is great to see so many enthusiasts. Starting to get my head around the catus situation here in Oz but to make sure let me ask this hypothetical questions... If you were going to a desert island and could only plant one cactus which one of these would it be? 1) Trichocereus bridgesii 2) Trichocereus peruvianus 3) Lophophora's 4) Trichocereus Spachianus 5) Trichocereus Panchanoi ???? It would seem this is the order of most popular to least... Despite its popularity in Peru, most people in Australia would not even consider taking number 5!?! Sallubrious Posted November 14, 2012 If I was going to a desert island I'd want Opuntias because I could eat the bastards. I don't know why you have the pach at the bottom of the list below the spach. There is no stigma attached to pachanoi, they are a much used plant in Oz, some even prefer pach to the others.
