Grafting cacti

Question

DSCF2113.jpg

Have been experimenting with grafting using this cacti does anyone know the species, we have access to a specimen that is about a metre and a half tall and have attempted grafting Gynocalycium , Echinopsis and Lobivia species to it with good results so far. I figure its a bit of a weed really.

I don't think its prickly pear but I think its Opuntia sp the spines aren't as fine and nasty as a prickly pear and the diameter of these guys is about 2cm at top end also they aren't really paddled ie not so flat. I'll take some pics of muy grafts and a few more of the above plant.
