jebus Posted September 18, 2011 (edited) Hey guys, Can anyone ID these please,I saw these at bunnings today and they looked kinda familiar, are they anything worth while buying I think they were about $8 each, cause one of them looks like my Trichocereus bridgesii or Trichocereus pachanoi. Thanks in advance. Edited September 18, 2011 by jebus

0 jebus Posted September 18, 2011 thanks EG, you are a cacti ID savant! so your advice is to buy the first and leave the second cheers J.
0 Evil Genius Posted September 18, 2011 (edited) Those are probably the easiest cacti to ID so not sure about the ID Savant. Cant give Advice about which one to buy or not because discussion about potency is against the rules. But i personally dont like Myrtillocacti so i´d probably really buy nothing but the scop. bye EG Edited September 18, 2011 by Evil Genius
0 jebus Posted September 18, 2011 EG ... potency... not sure what you mean ... potency of spines ... right? anyway's I'm with you I prefer the look of the scop it is similar to my yowie and bridgy's (well to a noob like me) so it will not get discriminated against I may have a few more to challenge you with I got from my brothers gf's father nothing of interest regarding e-botany but nice looking all the same. Cheers J.
0 bogfrog Posted September 26, 2011 Myrtillocacti are worth buying if you plan on raising any of your own seeds and want to try some grafting as they are a good grafting stock.
0 jebus Posted September 29, 2011 Thanks bogfrog, good advice. I never thought of that at all cheers J.
0 Quill Posted September 29, 2011 Myrtillos get a bad rap, sure they're a little boring but if you put em in full sun they can have some mean ass spines
0 jebus Posted September 29, 2011 Thanks Quill, another good reason would be perfect to prevent drunk a-holes from causing havoc in my front yard and smashing the security lamp ... eventually cheers J.
