migraineur Posted September 3, 2011 Hi guys, My san pedro seedlings could probably do with some fertiliser. I have miracle grow but I am not sure if I should use full strength fertiliser or if I should dilute it. I don't want to hurt my babies. Any information would be appreciated. migraineur Posted September 4, 2011 Thanks, guys. I just bought a worm farm so once I've got that setup I will have lots of worm tea to use.
Marcel Posted September 4, 2011 Archaea: half strength, but how often? Once a fortnight?
Gunter Posted September 4, 2011 It depends on the seedlings, but at the most once a week, at the least once a month.
George Posted September 4, 2011 Once you have made and tried your own worm castings you won't look back. Long lasting and they grow fast.
Gunter Posted September 4, 2011 I used to use worm castings as 1/3 of my seedling mix, still I would always supplement nutrition to get them growing faster, but worm castings are really good for cactus seedlings.
MagicalMedic Posted October 3, 2011 Has anyone tried seaweed extract or cow manure? I am also wondering if people pay careful attention to the nutritional needs that are specific to cacti (or even their specific type maybe) or if a general purpose fertiliser is ok? Gunter Posted October 3, 2011 (edited) depends on the cactus, trichs love N but lophs don't what i mean is, you can't lump cacti together in terms of anything not media, not environment, not water and not fertilizer Edited October 3, 2011 by Gunter
