Some interesting cacti pics

Recommended Posts

Heres just a few pics of some of my cacti that i see as a bit unique to the rest of my other or just cool looking. I havent kept up to date with what cacti people have so they may not be that interesting in comparison to others.

A sexy looking peruvy

Not sure on the ID of this but i find the long/short spine mix interesting. The second photo is the pup from the same plant.

Wow, that scopulicola x bridgesii looks remarkably like the PC pachanoi!

Looks like you have a nice garden going there. :)

yeah if it wasnt for the thickness it might be hard to differentiate the two. Its only about 1.5mtrs so time will tell how it matures. Would love to see the same cross in other climates if people have any pics

I think it definitely lends credibility to the hypothesis that the PC pach has bridgesii in it. Would be good to see the photos of the same cross in different climates to compare.

Remarkably so.

I've long thought there might be some relationship between the PC and these two Bolivian species, especially when you stop to consider the similarities between the PC "pachanot" and T. riomizquensis. Additionally, T. riomizquensis comes from central Bolivia and the Department of Cochabamba near the Rio Mizque (southeast Cochabamba), and is situated between the T. scopulicola of O'Connor Province in the south, and the T. bridgesii of the La Paz region in the north.

I lean toward thinking the T. riomizquensis and the PC "pachanot" are variations of a intermediate between T. bridgesii and T. scopulicola.

That cuzco is gorgeous :drool2: . Have you found it to particularly resistant to predators, and not just because of its spines?

My understanding is that this scop x bridg is from the same cross (herbalistic)

It has fattened up since this pic was taken it is about 1 meter tall and 130mm wide at its fattest point

It would be great to see this cross with bridgesii spines

I love this cross and I hope to add more to my collection in the future
