Rabelais Posted February 26, 2011 (edited) Went for a hike today and took some shots, just shots. Pretty sure its sophorae. Also ran into a tiger snake while I was at it, damn it came close...9 hours later and I am still squirming. Also came across this one...strange, seemed very similar to sophorae, but a miniature version. Phyllodes couldn't have been anymore that 3cm. And this one, no idea what it is though. Any ideas? A few money shots of the hike's destination. Don't ask me to tell you where it is, it's a pretty well kept secret. Drop me a line if you're ever in Tassie and I'll take you there. solomon Posted February 27, 2011 Beautiful rock formations, looks very similar to some beaches in my neck of the woods. No photo of the snake?
Rabelais Posted February 27, 2011 .No photo of the snake? That was the last thing on my mind and it quickly went into the brush. Getting bitten an hours walk from my car probably would have meant big trouble.
paradox Posted February 27, 2011 (edited) definitely sophorae... the small one 4th shot down is probably a Hakea.. tassie tiger snakes have a mellow nature.. which is just as well as some places they are just eveywhere. just for the sake of tigersnake porn, & to boast about how brave i am.. this is one i nearly stepped on in upper florentine is this what you saw dale? sick geology by the way Edited February 27, 2011 by paradox

Rabelais Posted February 27, 2011 is this what you saw dale? That looks right, it was jet black but I didn't get to see any of it's belly...and I don't think it was as big as that sucker. Great shots! I think it was getting some afternoon sun. I didn't see any hint of fauna during the overcast morning, but by the time I was heading back in the afternoon with the sun out, there were a few lizards basking in the open trail, and yeah, that other thing.
