No_One Posted May 31, 2010 Can someone please tell me what I'm on about here? What theories, terms, etc. are there to describe/explain someones over-riding/all encompassing/actual/ultimate agenda? Is there a word to describe/explain somones "grand-plan" i.e. the thing that influences all their decision making, actions and opinions. I'm not talking their desire for survival but the aims/outcomes/beliefs/main motivator(s)they have that are man-made or relate to some man-made or imagination-made ideal. What I'm on about is colloqioaly similar to someones "go" e.g. "What's his go?" What would the scholars say I'm on about? Peace.

No_One Posted May 31, 2010 Thanks for the replies Guys, I looked around and this sounds pretty close: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conatus
drugo Posted May 31, 2010 Thanks for the replies Guys, I looked around and this sounds pretty close: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conatus "aims/outcomes/beliefs/main motivator(s)they have" Vectors of intentionality. This phrase may work for aims, beliefs, and main motivators. But as for outcomes... well i guess an outcome is experienced and assessed in relation to vectors of intentionality. Soteriology is a fundamental science of religion that may resonate with your question. Along with the study of creationism, soteriology is at the centre of religious (and, in my opinion, western scientific) studies. Conatus... great word, thx for the link. No_One Posted June 1, 2010 Telepath, It's interesting, I'll look up soteriology and vectors of intentionality. I actually found conatus through seeing what philosophers had to say about "telos", I've no idea what vectors of intentionality means at this stage but I have an inkling it will have something to do with ones conatus directed at some telos? T S Tantra, It's still a trip, it's just cool seeing how people have broken it up and named the parts they can see. Peace.
