Genesis Posted March 29, 2010 Hey kids, been reading up on anti aging therapy for quite a while now. Apparently as we age out hormone levels drop and some doctors think this is part of the reason why we age. Drops in hormone levels cause similar symptoms to aging like: Balding Thining of skin Muscle loss And other such junk Anyone had any experience with anti aging hormone replacement? Also I am mostly interested in the upsides of boosted testosterone, muscle gain and living forever Cheers lads, Gen
mr me Posted March 29, 2010 There is quite a bit of research being put into this area of science and you can take "additives" to stay younger. Sly Stallone is somewhat of a good example, as he uses steroids and other growth hormones. The problem with this stuff though is when it turns on you it usually leads to heart, connective tissue damage, liver failure, cancer, etc. The biggest problem we have on Earth is that we are constantly bombarded with comic radiation and that is one of the main perpetrators to disease and death. C_T Posted March 29, 2010 as we age, we produce less hormones... be that sex hormones like testosterone/estrogen/progesterone, or human growth hormone. Both play important roles. You will find Growth Hormone will give more anti-aging benefits, such is improved sleep, improved skin, immune system, reduced bodyfat etc etc. Infact a 45yr old releases 1/2 the GH of a 21yr old... So by the time your 60, there's very very little in your body. Currently, its about $12.50 per UI of HGH from an anti-aging clinic. Doses are 1 to 2ui per day (usually something like 2 days on, 1 day off) So its somewhere between 10 and 20 dollars a day.
Auxin Posted March 29, 2010 Another front is telomerase induction. Telomers protect DNA and when they run out the DNA soon cant replicate any more. Telomerase rebuilds telomeres, but its turned off in non-cancer human cells (cancers turn it back on to become immortal). Unfortunately telomerase inducers isnt big research, rather they look for inhibitors to fight cancer immortality, but a few inducers are known.. some are in Astragalus membranaceus. In fact I'd have to take exception to the statement that anti-aging research is big business. Finding supplements to sell old people with money is big business (and in the coming years more short term HGH and in vitro telomerase inducer research, etc. will come out)... doing a hundred 60 year long multimillion dollar research projects into aging is not. Most the cash goes to capitalist ventures promising quick returns.

Slybacon Posted March 30, 2010 Look up , Tongkat Ali my friend.... The stuff is for testosterone production. Add Mucana Priens for skin and you'll be looking younger in no time.... You want to find the LJ100. There are a few places that sell it. Great stuff
Auxin Posted March 30, 2010 For muscle rebuilding without so much of the problems (both toxicological and legal) associated with androgenic steroids Stemmacantha carthamoides (syn. Leuzea c., syn Rhaponticum c.) may be worth a look. Contains anabolic non-androgenic steroids. Not sure how well it'd grow in oz, it may need a real winter.. always one of my first plants to grow when spring nears and the flowers smell awesome
