The one in the front is a cereus. The one in the back looks more like a Trichocereus. But maybe this just has to do with the large distance to the camera. Can you provide a closeup of the one in the back? bye Eg

yeah looks like one of the reasonably fat PC forms that seem common from commercial cacti growers in oz. judging by the colour it gets a fair bit of sun & perhaps could do with a feed & a good water

Thanks guys.

Sorry no more pics yet but more in a few days. Its actually good to have the cereus at the front to compare the distinct differences. Will be collecting this baby mid week. Any suggestions for transport? Should I just chop it into lengths and leave a small amount of growth with the root

ball? It would be near impossible to keep whole I imagine.

Thanks again.

Don't worry. Ethnodude to the rescue.

Its will be an honor to be able to show this beauty some much deserved love. Just want to do her justice bringing her home. Some research ahead before moving but any pointers would be appreciated.

Thx

Agreed, chop an inch or two above the base, lay the columns down in a trailer/wagon and dig up the root ball for transporting. Ensure all wounds callous before returning to the ground (particularly if you get a lot of rain - if you are in a really dry spot then you should be right to put the rooted section in pretty much immediately).

And yep, T. pachanoi PC :)
