1" bridge tip

Recommended Posts

Hey all, I have in my posession a bridgesii tip, just under an inch wide and just over an inch long, and i am wondering what the best plan would be as far as getting it to grow? I have had it in perlite for a few months now, watered every so often but drying out completely between waterings. It is nicely calloused but has not shown any signs of putting out roots at all. It's a very healthy looking tip.

Would it be reasonable to graft it onto an established trich?

I have had poor success with small cuttings like that..soo..

It sounds like a perfect candidate for grafting!

Id go for grafting.

FWIW, I normally chuck the tip from grafting into the soil in the same pot the stock is. Theya re normally a bit biger then 1" maybe a couple to a few haha but my T.bridgesii x scopulicola seems to take from this size easily, takes a while to get going but they eventually do, not bad for no extra effort on my behalf.

yeah definately grafting! Avoid making cuttings that small because they show a very poor growth rate! Some smaller middle section cuttings dont grow for years. Or not at all. bye Eg
