Molecules as Mandalas

Recommended Posts

Been having a play around with this myself in the past, then found there was a paper on it which looks interesting. Porphyrins, chlorins, telomeres, DNA/RNA, aromatics, fullerenes etc are all very interesting but I'm keen to see other takes on it all.

Don't have access to the particular journal - would it be possible to get a copy if anyone has access? Would be much appreciated.

Molecules as Mandalas: Modern chemistry and the quest for the self

i'd like to see it to....he seems to be a jungian psych .....his other google references have nothing to do with mandalas,so i guess there wasnt a future in it for him....

these are said to be scientific and quite nice anyway.....and an interesting site....

cool links tantra! not enough of an egghead for the paper but i find this sort of approach exciting and much closer to my notion of a really hectic universe. no idea what kind of scientific credibility they have but this is awesome.

without bothering to register for the molecules as mandalas pdf, i can guess about it's line of thought. some people have been trippin' about sound and resonant patterns, sounds ability to imbue structure onto matter, sound originating the universe, crop circles........

:)

is the pdf along those lines? my first impression is that if a sound-like resonant structure can somehow what keeps particles intact (and made manifest), maybe by interacting with 'the backdrop', then the universe could be illusory as is sometimes suggested, still with some kind of active and passive principle tripping balls (cause and setting, existence and non existance), a song on the wind which needs origin and medium to exist but is only a "sub-creation", it is manifest because it's expressed but is an INTERACTION rather than being fundamental. maybe another crap example would be that we are the shape of the ocean surface, but that is subjectively arising out of a a the forms of water and wind. examples aside, i may be talking about all physical forces being a farce, a projection, delivered by some kind of resonant energy. if i go with the theme, this energy could withdraw, intact, and no more universe.

strings could be likened to resonance *shrug*

quantum fields could be likened to resonance maybe

An interesting link keeping it all nice and simple:

http://metatranspiration.wordpress.com/200...-life-revealed/

good read but it's basically buckminster fuller saying what i said using big words and linking it with the structure of the tetrahedron. platonic solids have always had special status and often (usually?) figure into theories about the structure of the universe.
