0 Undergrounder Posted March 28, 2009 black spore print Black print fits Coprinus spp, if you look closely at that patch in the field you'll notice that the mushrooms are actually growing from a piece of buried wood.. Thanks the spore print is usually the best key for doing IDs and it really helps. Apart from the look, you mentioned that they were delicate, which is a sure sign of all Coprinus spp. Very common for them to fall apart just carrying them around. Other species like Coprinus comatus or Coprinus truncorum will even disintegrate into a black ooze just hours after they've opened up. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
