devance Posted February 11, 2009 Well, as too the arsonist theory. The L.A. bush fire was caused by teenagers that had a come alone ride for fighting fire with fire fighters for a controlled blaze. So some might have teenagers thought it would be a good idea to see a repeat but probably just wanted to see a controlled fire blaze with fire trucks. Winds make that a deadly fireworks type display. compost Posted February 11, 2009 Come off it Taskforce Phoenix! 'Suspicious cars' don't do it for me.. And what exactly is there to find? And now 'looters' are another reason why residents aren't allowed back to their towns! Maybe if they let residents return there wouldn't be any looters? Give it a few years and these current events will be regurgitated for TV as 'Australias deadliest something or other'. More like a few days huh.
Garbage Posted February 11, 2009 I too feel sorry for those labouring under the misapprehension that they are not viewed by Government as human resources to a logging concern that respects no national borders,i feel sorry for those that know it and are propagandized against and scapegoated by greenwashers and other empty heads. compost Posted February 12, 2009 Fined for illegal clearing, family now feel vindicatedTHEY were labelled law breakers, fined $50,000 and left emotionally and financially drained. But seven years after the Sheahans bulldozed trees to make a fire break — an act that got them dragged before a magistrate and penalised — they feel vindicated. Their house is one of the few in Reedy Creek still standing. Mr Sheahan is still angry about his prosecution, which cost him $100,000 in fines and legal fees. The council's planning laws allow trees to be cleared only when they are within six metres of a house. Mr Sheahan cleared trees up to 100 metres away from his house."The council stood up in court and made us to look like the worst, wanton environmental vandals on the earth. We've got thousands of trees on our property. We cleared about 247," he said. http://www.theage.com.au/national/fined-fo...sw.html?page=-1 This guy should get his fines repaid.
