It seems most ethnobotanicals do great up north, and i'm looking to expand my garden beyond cacti.

i always go to buy some sort of plant off SAB, but then get dissapointed to see most of what i want won't grow here.

anybody with some cuttings (preferred) or seeds, please let me know.

You can grow most things in melbourne so long as u provide the correct micro climate.

i totally forgot i made this thread, i wasn't too straight while making it.

but, i did go out and buy a mini greenhouse today, so that gives me more options.

basicly there isn't much in particular i want, i'm just trying to expand my garden.

some things that would be nice though are Catha edulis and Piper methysticum.

but, if anyone does have anythigng else that would be interesting, let me know.

As an ex Melbournian I thought of growing HBWR while I was there...I was told the climate is unsuitable and it would not work...so I didn't bother.

Things do grow well up here. If only I wasn't renting...I'd have a field day.

I am pretty much restricted to growing in pots for the time being.

So am i.

Just use huge pots and good soil.....*shrugs*.

My Sinuichi are in pots and seem to be scoring and using steroids from somewhere during the night while i'm asleep...

EDIT: Btw, i've been using the condensation waste water from my portable air-con for their drinkies.....and they seem to love it.

I've been doin that for years ...I'm so glad others think about that and use the water wisely..for some reason the plants I water with it seem to be healthier than others...don't know why but they certainly do love it.

Good job.

I've noticed that too...it's like they think it's rain water or something and really perk up...gives them that real healthy "punchy" color... ....i suppose it's kinda the same thing, no fluoride, no chlorine, just pure water sucked straight from the atmosphere.
