Haha it was bugging me, I felt like I'd read that too, and a little searching revealed it was in The Outsider, by Colin Wilson. Funny, because I was just skimming it, but that one comment lodged in my brain. Anyway, I reckon it's an insult to apes to compare their desires to the levels of debauchery humans have aspired to!
