might be a cuzco...

Question

SWIM bought this guy as a peruvian torch but came as sick as a dog so the last pick of the stump is the ampute patient, hoping that he'll bud and get back to normal. If it's not then SWIM's out $40...if it's not then could someone recommend another cacti farmer? not a chip/insence provider but a true blue nursery.

Swim told the vendor about it and swim's getting another torch, but would still very much like some ID on this guy please.

The vendor in question happens be a well known Ursa Major

Trichocereus cuzcoensis, it's likely not very active.

as I feared, it lacked that frosted blue hue that I would have so much wanted to view. Alas, I'm stuck with bunk.

Looks more like a macrogonus to me. That spines looks to "twangy" and flexible. A good way to tell if it's not the cuzco type is if the prominent spine starts bending downward at a slant all on it's own or if it's not fat at the base(Like the hand guard on a sword)

What's with the hole in it?

I've picked up a large pedro cut recently that has the same thing :(

Is that hole going to just keep on getting bigger and bigger?

Bone coloured spines. I'd say cuzco or cuzco/KKoid.

The hole looks like a black death hole. I have found these to be a bit susceptable to patches of the the death, doesn't seem to spread much though.

Yeah, I know that I have the medical skills of a a civil war doctor but I have taken a sample of that black patch, it's weird. They're more freckle like than a completely biological whipeout, they spread from the skin down like a root, only going in a little bit though, no where near the core. As for the spines, they are kinda flexiable and wiggle. Sorry I thought this thread had died on me after the first initial post, then I got a post from phos D and then I was alerted to posts.
