Guest Mesqualero Posted February 2, 2002 If I ordered a package containing P.Viridis from overseas; if customs found it would they confiscate it?
woof woof woof Posted February 2, 2002 If they do, then Probably not without giving you notice! Then again they might not cofisc.... Mr T , might want to answer this one for you. [This message has been edited by brian (edited 02 February 2002).]
Guest Psilo_smylin Posted February 2, 2002 Just don't ask them (PJ) to label it differently, I received a call once, they said they had opened my package and in it was the order form requesting that it be labelled inconspicuously At least I got to keep my smudging sage ie: PLEASE DO NOT OPEN! CONTENTS FOR ENTIRELY INNOCENT PURPOSES! 'n

twee Posted February 4, 2002 AQIS doesn't prohibit the import of Psychotria seeds and I've noticed that if the plant containes substances scheduled by customs the AQIS site usually makes a reference to that fact. I haven't used the AQIS database much so I'm definitely no expert. But based on the strength of my AQIS search i ordered a packet of P. viridis and P. nervosa seeds from the USA. Or should I cancel that order and pay The Medicine Garden $88 for a plant? [This message has been edited by twee (edited 04 February 2002).]
coin Posted February 4, 2002 *cough* Do not pay $88 for this plant.. use the search function and hunt around these forums for some more generous leads/offers.
Torsten Posted February 5, 2002 AQIS allows the import of this seed. Customs has not twigged onto the leaf commodity. Theoretically it is illegal, but practically not until they work out why. Do not ever request suppliers to relabel seeds. The maximum penalty for AQIS infringment is $2000 per offence (only do one at a time!!). The maximum penalty for making a false customs declaration (ie requesting for the false declaration to be made) is jail. Don't f*ck with customs! SAB will be selling viridis plants for $20-25 soon. There are at least 3 other suppliers getting their shit together for this species. patience will save you lots of money.
