Ace Posted May 1, 2007 I bought a few off ebay in spring. Kept them in a medium sized pot and they didnt get much bigger than about 4 inches I dont really know what the prob was, but I didnt have a very good location to put them in-ground - perhaps that was the problem Best of luck with them - I know there was a heap on ebay a few months back - maybe keep an eye out I think they might also be at the SAB shop. Amulte Posted May 1, 2007 yeah i love them, its a cross breed/selection between HB and PG. many different variations but FS has to be one of the most popular, theres a few different variations too.
Coschi Posted May 2, 2007 Hmm excuse my ignorance but what are HB and PG ? BUMP!! come on fellas i'm sure someone's got some! On the other hand, what's the deal with not being allowed to order mg seeds? i've tried a few vendors and none ship to Australia! why they're not illegal at all are they? Peyofox Posted May 3, 2007 I had this purple/blue coloured mg come up last year, it was less invasive than HB or PG and flowered sooner. Anyone seen it before? I kept some seed if anyone is interested.
Coschi Posted May 3, 2007 (edited) Can you get some pics of the leaves on that first one? It looks mighty like the train track morning glory seen everywhere.. I took some pics, looks a lot like it! Apparently they are an un-interesting variety of morning glory also i heard they don't really seed also but what the hell do i know Edit: you can see the leaf shape there, not exactly heart shaped more like a club or something.. heavenly blue have lovely perfect heart shaped leaves all over Edited May 3, 2007 by Sphinx
Ace Posted May 3, 2007 Yep AFAIK - the one in your pic sphinx is a weedy variety and shouldnt be attempted in cultivation (to prevent spread). The leaves of the wanted varieties are all heart shaped as per Recluse's pics. Recluse, if you happen to have some seed for that one, I'd love to put my hand up! Peyofox Posted May 3, 2007 Recluse, if you happen to have some seed for that one, I'd love to put my hand up! Sure thing Ace. PM your details. Both pics are of the same plant btw.
Peyofox Posted May 3, 2007 yeah i love them, its a cross breed/selection between HB and PG. many different variations but FS has to be one of the most popular, theres a few different variations too. I have collected seed from both PG and HB that shared the same trellis they grew on, could this seed result in variations through simple cross polination? ENtiTY Posted May 3, 2007 I have a friend with a vine growing on his fence that has a flower like that blue and purple one with heart shaped leaves. Might have to take a closer look.
