tonic Posted March 7, 2007 Most likely not. Will add though that I saw them play live in Sydney back in 2003 and they absolutely rocked. I was even lucky enough to meet one of the guys for a very brief conversation. Though am not entirely sure he understood what I was on about [not sure I would've either on reflection, that was a messy night], but that wasn't relevant as he could tell that I enjoyed they're live set immensely, and that was what I was on about. obtuse Posted March 7, 2007 Their even coming to hobart.... WOOOT. pity but, its at Syrup... wish they do an outdoor doof instead, that'd rock. Wish they could hang around for the fractal festival.....
tonic Posted March 7, 2007 wish they do an outdoor doof instead, that'd rock. I saw them inside @ a large [now defunct] club in Sydney called GAS, I don't think it matters whether you see these guys indoors or out, they rock it all the same.
DuG Posted March 7, 2007 sweet might have to go to this, syrup isn't too bad like lots of venues it depends on the night

simon_marklar Posted March 8, 2007 infected mushroom dont make psy trance anymore. that is their new style. not for me, sorry.
tonic Posted March 8, 2007 I don't actually mind this new style, but they were in full psy-trance mode when I saw them. Musicians need to evolve and innovate as a lack of these inevitably leads to stagnation.
ajna Posted March 8, 2007 yah must say i'm with simon on this one, the mushroom seem to have lost their infectiousness on me. could be a completely different situation when live though, i wouldn't know

mu! Posted March 11, 2007 I don't actually mind this new style, but they were in full psy-trance mode when I saw them. tonic Posted March 11, 2007 Good call, but nobody said they had to innovate shit! The record company may have told them to innovate? Just my opinion. I still think they were better in times past, but still don't mind the new stuff, maybe that is just one track out of many different sounding tracks in their repetoire? I wouldn't know. I won't be going to see them anyways as i'm a lazy shit and i'd rather grow plants or do the mixing or live performance myself instead of forking out top dollar to see someone else play. Plus i've seen them before.
ThunderIdeal Posted April 8, 2007 The record company may have told them to innovate? just chasing the cash i think, after all, who could earn the kind of bucks they do now by making psytrance? where are the reviews anyway? how was franny? i think he was two sets before mushroom. DuG Posted April 8, 2007 they may not be psy trance now but..... damn they rock! saw them on thursday at syrup. not the best venue but still the music was great. They are really friendly and let me and my mate get up onstage after the show for a photo with them all.
