tonic Posted March 2, 2007 I suggest buying some seeds or alternatively buying some plants for growing, as most of us don't encourage the harvesting of wild native plants from the bush. Thanks. Happy hunting you can get the seeds here as a starting point: shaman australis botanicals
shruman Posted March 2, 2007 If u do find some please harvest ethicaly, take bark from fallen limbs or dead trees, harvesting bark from live trees is often detimental to the plant & often kills them.
platypii Posted March 3, 2007 Curious- i have an obustifolia growing locally- theres always dead branches, twigs etc. lying littered at her feet....i always assumed they would be useless and dismissed the tree, but can they be utilised?
shruman Posted March 3, 2007 Aparrently so, this is the best method for wild harvest.
komodo Posted March 3, 2007 (edited) try and get the fallings while theyre fresh willow, as the bark oxidises and loses its potency. jo, growing your own would be most reliable... in the meantime you might want to do some walking in the blue mountains, but repeating what others have said definitely watch out for hurting the plants, they really dont like being cut and will often die if you strip bark off them. tread lightly in their environment, take time to get familiar with the life cycle of the species.. if you find some obtus., treasure them! and yes maybe just get some fallen material to work with as practise with the brewing. good luck Edited March 3, 2007 by komodo
jo cosmic Posted March 4, 2007 Thanks for the advice guys. Ill have a look around the blue mountains area and ill be careful not too disturb the the conditions of the trees and their environment. Failing that, I probably will buy my own tree. Woul the botanic gardens in the blue mountains be a good area to look?

Benzito Posted March 6, 2007 No one is going to tell you where to find tree's in the wild. As a new member, no-one knows what kind of person you are, and so far your posts seem to hint that you are very keen to strip some Acacia's to get high. I mean no offence, just telling it how it looks.
