forgetting the stamp...

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

just wondering something...

I've just run a comp and posted the prizes without any stamps on the letters... (so stupid)

Has anyone ever done this before?

I checked with the Aussie post website and I'm pretty sure they will ask the recipient to pay postage.? anyone done this?

Very annoying...

:slap:

there are several options and australia post appears to apply them randomly:

1) if they have a sender on it they can return the letter [usually happens if it is several items]

2) if they have a sender on them then they deliver the letter and send you a bill for actual postage plus about $1 penalty per item.

3) without sender the letter is usually delivered, but as a $1.40 C.O.D.

Lately it seems the latter option is the preferred one.

Don't quote me on the actual amount. It used to be 50 cents penalty, but that was over 15 years ago. I think the last one I got was 90 cents, but I can't remember if that was penalty alone or combined. I think the former.

thanks guys,

I feel better about the letters getting to the right people.

I spoke with Aussie post about it today, they said it will get delivered and most likely nothing else will happen - if they happen to check just the postage will have to be paid.

They are a pretty good bunch down at the post office
