coin Posted October 21, 2006 (edited) These pics were taken in Melbourne city's "Federation Square" There was a great vibe happening .. very happy & peaceful event Hope you like them Happy Diwali Everyone! from Melbourne Australia Early in the afternoon Everyone watching the entertainment and catching up with friends Lots of people enjoying their lunch and taking a look at the photo exhibition, "Earth from Above" by French photographer Yann Arthus-Bertrand, along the River Terrace (Yarra River) On the big video screen: Melbourne's Lord Mayor, John So, saying Namaste -- he always gets massive cheers - everyone loves him here The crowd keeps getting bigger and bigger! Very hard to move around The night closes with a fireworks display fairly early - around 9.30pm - so everyone can go home to pray and do puja with family Love & light - Adam xoxo Edited October 21, 2006 by coin
AndyAmine. Posted October 22, 2006 I have very fond memories of Divwali, it was one of my favorite times in India.. 2 weeks of non stop fireworks and unfortunatly carnage., poor fmilies would spend thier last cent on screeming/whistling/singing sky rockets and 'king kong bombs" My fav' was the screaming cockral at about AU$40! a sweet 3 stage display rocket. I celebrated in my own way watching the Indy fireworks lastnight ;)
