Auxin Posted September 22, 2002 Is there a low growing, ground-cover type nightshade with bright red berries (about 6mm long, 5mm wide). If I remember right, the leaves have one large oval leaf segment and a smaller oval leaf segment on either side. The reason I ask is when I was growing up I was always told that plant was nightshade, and the other day I was helping my grandma move and I grabbed a handful of berries, then when I got home (300 miles away) I discovered the plant did not conform to the pictures of normal nightshade and now I'm not sure exactly what I have.
