What did you do in your sacred garden today?

I've just picked some leaves for a couple smoke blends I have been working on. The Indian smoke blend consists of: Ashwaganda leaves Chili Leaves Gotu Kola flowers Argyria nervosa leaves Indian Basil leaves and flowers This actually turns out to be something of a trip, there is a lot going on in here. The LSA from the Argyria is definitely noticeable even in the leaves, but I think the real powerhouse in this blend is actually the inconspicuous Basil. It has a crap load of eugenol in it and is definitely a plant that I am going to be growing in mass next year after I get some seeds (it happens to be the best tasting basil I have found as well, with it's peppery flavor). The newest addition is the Chili leaves and I'm excited to see what happens, as a quid made out of the leaves that I'm using is just quite amazing, almost cannibinoid like and doesn't activate your heat sensors, so there is no burn. The South American blend is a bit less complicated and more just pleasant: Lemon Verbena leaves Caapi leaves Rustica leaves Stevia leaves This makes for a great tasting tobacco blend that I definitely feel the essential oils in the Lemon Verbena adds so much to. Again the most recent addition to this is the Stevia and I'm hoping it give it a pleasant sweet taste with the lemon. I love my plants, they are so good to me.
  3. I have recently switched over to 432 hertz and I'm never going back. The harmonies and the overtones that it creates is just amazing. I highly recommend anyone interested in making healing music check this out. http://humansarefree.com/2011/05/432-hz-vs-440-hz-documentary.html http://www.omega432.com/music.html http://soulsounds.com.au/432-hz-the-physics-of-sound/ Soul Sounds: 432 Hz – Perfect Harmonic of Light The discovery of 432 Hz frequency remains one the most important factors in Sound Healing and therefore worth the introduction. Everything in the Universe is Sound therefore becoming attuned to this intelligent system by embracing what is our most natural state of being may determine the difference between living a harmounious existence or not. To do so we have to realign to the correct resonance of our true nature. Early in the 19th Century our music was tuned to 440 Hz which added an extra 8 Hz thus creating a slight distortion from what is otherwise known to be the perfect frequency which is 432Hz. This frequency is known to carry the PHI ratio of Fibbonacci which is the Golden Mean principle. The Golden Mean is found in everything from the distant solar systems and galaxies all the way to our cellular molecular structure and DNA. So when music is tuned to 432Hz instead of 440Hz it has a profound effect on our bodies, mind, emotions and spirit. Thus sound produced through any instrument tuned to 432Hz carries with itself the perfect harmonic of Light. To be more precise what this means is that the Golden Mean PHI uni?es the properties of light, time, space, matter, gravity and magnetism with biology and the DNA code and consciousness. What is Sound? Sound is vibrational energy. It is a form of energy which is caused by vibration. Sound takes the form of waves. Waves are measured in Hertz which means the cycle per seconds at which something vibrates. For example a tuning fork if played it vibrates backwards and forwards about 100 times per second so that means it would have a frequency of 100Hz. Frequency is a scienti?c term to what we would otherwise call ‘pitch’. The human audible range can vary between 16 and 20000 cycles per second. Therefore the slower moving the sound, the longer and deeper will be the sound wave. The faster is the sound and the shorter and higher will be the wave by which it travels. For example a piano note that is 27.5 Hz is the lowers note you can play, and the highest will resonate at 4,186Hz. Any sound that is above 20000 or below 16 Hz are beyond the human hearing faculty and are called ultrasonic. Nature has got much higher sound frequency as high as 40000 Hz has been recorded which is the sound made by crickets and also the dolphins and wales can perceive sound up to 180000 Hz, this is almost 10 times our hearing range. Nada Brahma ‘The Wold is Sound” is in the Hindu Sacred scriptures, and now we know this to be so. From the electrons moving around a nucleus of an atom to planets revolving around stars in distant galaxies, everything is ‘vibration’ hence everything that is movement is creating a ‘Sound’ whether we can hear it or not. How sound effects the human energy ?eld: Resonance: Resonance is one of the basic principles by which Sound Healing works. Resonance is the ‘frequency or the vibration at which an object vibrates. Everything solid has a vibration, the chair, the desk, a tree and of course all the organs in the body including the bones that appear so solid have a frequency. Every part of the body has its own vibration and together they have a composite of frequency which is the individual ‘resonance’. So in this instance the human body can be described as a Human Orchestra, as all of these body parts are constantly and consistently working together to be in ‘tune’ or harmony. We can begin to understand now, how what we call disease can occur in the body. If we consider that these organs are supposed to harmoniously cooperate, if one begins to go out of tune the entire melody becomes distorted, as it would in an orchestra if one of the instruments would start playing the same piece but in the wrong key. To this effect scientist Itzhak Bentov in his Book Stalking the Wild Pendulum explains well the concept of resonance. In his view, when the body is diseased, it becomes out of tune. If it were possible to project the proper resonance sound frequency to the organ which was effected it may be possible to restore harmony and realign it back to its natural state of health. Entrainment: Another important factor of vibration is Entrainment. Entrainment is the phenomenon of sound in which a powerful vibration of an object is able to change the vibrations of another object, causing it to become synchronized with itself. To explain this phenomenon better we can relate to the experience of Dutch Physicist Christian Huygens, a contemporary of Isaac Newton, who discovered entrainment in the 17th Century. When he placed many grandfather clocks in the same room and upon his return he discovered that all the clocks pendulums where synchronized or entrained to the larger clock. Entrainment is also found in nature, when we observe ?re?ies blinking on and off eventually entrain each other. So do women when they spend periods of time in the same rooms often become entrained in their menstrual cycles. Rhythm: Sound can change our internal rhythm. One way of doing this of course is through rhythm. If we play a piece of music with a slow tempo, most likely we will feel relaxed. And our internal rhythm will change. The heart rate will slow down etc., whilst a faster rhythm will create a different internal rhythm perhaps making us want to move faster or dance. You can easily change your entire library over to 432hz using the free program Audacity. Roop

    Camellia sinensis as quid

I was thinking a lot last night about the chewing plants and that there are probably a great deal of plants that if you chew on a specific part of them, it will have psychoactive activity (especially when you consider the recent research being done into essential oils by a lot of members here.) There are just some plants out there that when taken in the right way it will have an overwhelming effect on your conscious mind, and they are very common plants, Basil, Lemon, Nutmeg, Clove, Black Pepper, and many, many more. Well as I was thinking about all of this, my tea tree that I planted out the front last year popped into my head and told me to chew on her leaves. So this morning, I woke up and prepared myself and went and collected about 8 leaves and rolled them into a quid for chewing. I thanked the plant for healing me, and I chewed away for about 10-15 minutes at which point I was practically forced to spit out the quid by my body. It had a very astringent and bitter taste and reminded me a bit of Khat, but bitter. The effects on me were amazing, and I am still feelings them as I write this now. It has stimulated past the effects of chewing on a few quids of Khat leaves, clarified the mind, and slightly altered my perception. I was hoping that more of you out there that have some tea growing to test it out and confirm that these effects are not a placebo. I will be further experimenting and sharing with friends for more feed-back, but it makes perfect sense that this very sacred plant would be a powerful stimulant and mood enhancer when taken in this way. Australian Narcotic Plants

AMP has this to say: Castanospermum australe is used to treat post-prandial hyperglycaemia in diabetic patients. May have potential applications in the treatment of HIV-AIDS. CAUTION: the seeds are quite toxic and must be sliced and washed for several days in water before cooking and consuming. Active Constituents: The seeds contain bayogenin, a toxic saponin, as well as several alkaloids such as castanospermine, 7-deoxy-6-epi-castanospermine, and australine. Castanospermine has been shown to inhibit growth of the AIDS virus. I'll see what else I can find about the soaking process and I will PM you. If we could keep the topic of discussion on the narcotic plants that would be great, thank you.
  8. I was just doing some research on this plant and it sounds very interesting, does anyone have seeds in Aus?
  9. Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone could help me identify these plants. The first one is something similar to Dodonaea, but it has ridges on the edge, which my D. viscosa does not have, but it does seem to have similar growing patterns and leaves otherwise. Obviously flowers would help identify it, but this plant seems to have a distinctly astringent taste to it. This next one just started popping up all over the place, but it immediately caught my eye because of the giant leaves that the seedlings have. I just thought it was cool looking, maybe someone knows what it is? The last one is something that I have had growing in a small pot for more than a year and have recently stuck in the ground because, again, there is just something about the way it looks. There is another plant that kinda looks like a chili that I'm going to have to take a pic of because I don't want to risk it being some nasty solanaceae. Thank you so much for all your help guys! Show off ya Brugs for 2012

She only started flowering this week as I am down in Sydney and it takes a bit longer to warm up down here. I have recently created a meditation spot underneath her, where you can either lie down or sit on logs so people can feel her power and bask in her beauty. I only moved here earlier this year, and she was one of the main reasons I bought the place. Well, that, and the Floribunda out the front. Roop Edit: Grammar

    Caapi Seedling?

Did you have a Caapi flower recently or spread out some seeds? It's very unlikely that Caapi would pop up without very specific conditions.
  13. Some more information would be nice... When? City? Cover charge? You know, the things ppl might need to know.

    Australian Ethnobotanical Association

I was thinking, and it might be a good idea to have Our constitution have a "Bill of Rights" that outlines our stance on human rights In regards to their interaction with plants. This would have to be done in a way that is not overly radical, so that if Joe Blo were to read it he would feel inspired to interact with plants and to support the stance that we should be more curious about how the plants may be able to help us live in a more sustainable way. I will write something up and see if it works. You guys might want to write one up as well and then we can just use the best ideas from all of them.
