    MXE - Legal Status?

hmm, judging by what was said in that post it would be legal to import and posses in Victoria. But personally I wouldn't risk it. I was reading a post from Torsten a week ago where someone he knew almost had a life sentence for importing chemicals which were held then scheduled, then sent back to the importer.

    MXE - Legal Status?

MXE is illegal, covered under analogue law as it is an analogue of ketamine.
  7. Edit: retracted my comment. Don't know the exact circumstances so shouldn't be jumping to conclusions.

    Calls for Aussie drug legalisation

Saw a headline along these lines on the front page of the sydney morning herald a few days ago. I'm not sure what, if anything, it'll amount to, but it's refreshing to see this topic looked at from a new perspective.

    Jwerta's seedling grafts

nice grafts mate On my first try I had a l. williamsii on a cereus rootstock. The graft took, but about 3 weeks later a slug climbed up 1 metre of cereus to eat half of the grafted cacti at the very top. hardly worth the energy expenditure for me or the slug!

    strange loph seedling

Hi, I have been germinating some l. williamsii seedlings, but one is slightly strange. Instead of looking like a little ball, it has 2 heads coming off it and these are fairly long, although this is not due to etiolation. I don't know enough about cacti to be sure about this, but I'm guessing it may be a mutation. I don't have a good enough camera to take a half decent photo of it at this stage unfortunately. Does anyone have any ideas what this may be?

it does look like a trich seedling. I'm interested to see what happens with this one. I'll post a picture or something later on cheers

    strange loph seedling

the soil I was germinating it in has no other seeds in it, but it could just be a different species altogether that got thrown in with the lophs like you said psylo. it also looks like the other lophs I have germinated. It doesnt look like that dichotomous one. its as if it has etiolated a bit then been cut in 2 at the tip until 1/4 of the way through the seedling. I tried to take a photo but the resolution is so low. I am not sure of the variety, just that they are williamsii thanks for the suggestions guys
  16. Does anyone know the particular strain name of pomegranate that SAB stocks, usually in a 75mm pot (not the dwarf variety)?

Looking for Heavenly Blue Morning Glory

These are taking over near where I live. I'll try to collect some pods when ripe if I remember. becareful though, this seem like a very invasive species

    do cacti have antibodies?

Cacti have alkaloids that are antibiotic, such as hordenine, which could be used to fight off infections in humans. Unlike in mammals, plants do not have mobile cells as part of their immune response, so they would not become resistant to pathogens in the way humans do (with memory cells etc). They do, however, have proteins called transmembrane pattern recognition receptors (TPRRs), which respond to the patterns of the pathogens to be more efficient at killing them. edit: plants don't have antibodies, my mistake

    mimosa hostilis woes ...

I had the same problem, stunted growth when I removed them from the more humid propagating container. It took a month or two but they grew faster eventually. Looking at mine today, they droop when you tap the leaves. I thought only mimosa pudica did this. Can anyone who has been growing MH for a while tell me whether this happens with MH as well as MP? Are the shaman australis MH seeds definitely MH?
