I always wait untill they are at least 10cm then get a knife clean with a bit of metho mixed with water then cut the pup off the mother plant, I try to cut at a join as it roots quick IMO. Hope this helps mate

Thanks Ace! It sucks that we dont have as many crests and monstrose's as the US in time there will be many but atm there seems to be very little and what people do have they wont trade or sell. Sometimes these plants are priceless to the collector. If anyone in oz has some different TBM clones please PM me!

Does everyone here zap their sand and soil mix in the microwaves to get rid of fungus/spores? Its my first time laying seed down too and I didnt do this process.

I have seen common pedro go for more of that at markets so I know what you mean PD I seen one label for $100. It depends on the person really I value the cut at what I THINK it is worth cause there is no standardised pricing for cacti! Depends on how thick the cut is it, if it has roots etc many factors for me can have an increased price. Loph are priceless to some and worth nothing to others its a matter of opinioin that is why this post is in the wrong section, except if you are trying to SELL your opinion of the prices of cacti here.

Hey mate I think this post is in the wrong section should be in the bitches and gripes section of this forum IMO. Also if you collect Trichocereus you know that some are more rare than others and this can command a higher price due to rarity or slow growing. I think most cacti I have bought has been reasonable.

hey mate never called it a SAB meet just a meet up for SAB members other membes from other forums will be there too. More like a people and plant meet, how does that sound? Hopefully we get a day that isnt raining. Anyways will be good fun to catch up I aint gonna drink much as I have to drive! And if you are gonna have a few too many make sure you got someone sober to drive you home. I thought going to a pub would be a good idea as it maybe a bit cold around that time of year.
