Hi guys, love the idea as I too have been stooged over the past month. To streamlne the process how about when you send in your sample you also include a stamped self adressed envelope. The librarian then just needs to transfer the spore prints then drop the envelopes back in the post. I am unable to act as a librarian, but I would happily contribute 6 B+ prints, for microscopy purposes only to get the collection going.

Yes please George, ill take the Thai VVVV Gets 2 x B+ Prints VVVV (For microscopy purposes only)

Hey Omsource The humidifier has a small fan that helps to blow the mist into the greenhouse, that seems to help with the air exchange. On hot days I do fan out the greenhouse with a bit of cardboard but when it's below 28 I don't usualy bother. I have thought about rigging up a small fan on a timer but im happy with the current results so I might leave that for another day.

Good luck mate, hope it works as well for you as it does for me. Let us know.. ;)

Howdy Punkin I have a 4 tier PVC greenhouse, about 180cm m tall and 70cm x 50 cm wide, so it's a bit smaller than yours. Having said that I have the humidifier on a timer and only run it for 5 mins every 3 hours on a fairly low setting. The unit puts out a decent stream of cool water vapor and attaching a 2 meter tube hasn't affected the performance at all. Good luck mate.

Here you go mate, give this a go My link Get a tube from Bunnings, jam it in the top and run it into the greenhouse. Works a treat, and it has plenty of capacity so you can leave it for hours. I use a timer with mine, haven't had any problems for a couple of years now.

Chuck them in a lingerie bag, it's like a mesh bag with a zip on it. Peg this to the front of a pedestal fan and leave it on for a few hours till they go crisp. After this into an airtight container with damp rid like meanies suggested until cracker dry.

Yeah, looks bad, but hard to tell from the pic, it could just be a hollow in the cake that has formed a small patch of moisture. You may be lucky but unfortunately I doubt it. Keep trying, and above all else keep it clean, real clean. This is the stuff, available from most Bunnings about $6 a bag.

What chances does the mycelium have if another bacteria evolves nearby?

Chuck it away mate, it won't win. Keep trying -
So does that mean that i shouldn't cut my shrooms before drying? I usually split them in half length ways and dry them by the fan, before finishing off with some desiccant. If the oxidisation affects the potency then perhaps i'll stop cutting them..
