Ban new drugs unless proven safe - Law Commission
ethnodude replied to tripsis's topic in News & Notices
Collective rebellion. If a law is so insane that everyone ignores it, it ceases to exist. This is very much a smoke and mirrors, black magickal illusionary mind control tactics. Designed to make people fear freedom of choice, and consume products of addiction. -
Ban new drugs unless proven safe - Law Commission
ethnodude replied to tripsis's topic in News & Notices
I was waiting for this anoincement for some time. Its all part of Codex Alimentarius and the WHO free trade agreement, which kicks into gear this year. Its as if they allowed kronic to gain popularity so they could use it as a reason to justify this "new" proposal. Interestingly the proposal is only for "new drugs". Of course alcohol and tobacco will not be a part of the testing process, as they have already been shown to be 2 of the biggest killers. However the gov need the tax revenue to run campaigns like these. Of course the Gov only has people best interest a heart. -
Interesting thread. As stated before, there are a number of reason ingredients aren't listed on these "Herbal Incense" blends. In an ideal world, where the government had the people's interest at heart, vendors would be able to have full ingredient lists and adequate health warnings on how to use products "responsibly". However this is not the case. The way that the government looks at it here is if you make claims about products, including warnings, the product will then be deemed a "therapeutic" good. Companies then have to gain approval from the relevant Gov agencies, after paying tens of thousands of dollars to test. If the gov then deems the product not suitable for use, the thousands of dollars spent on testing are not reimbursed. Now, given the fact that cannabis is deemed not suitable for use, and hence illegal, what is the likelihood of the gov approving any "legal high" for use? You gotta be dreaming if you think that's going to happen. This is a good link to how these things are going Thanks Tripsis (although in NZ which are a bit behind restrictions than good old Aus). Any vendor that is listing ingredients and stating directions for use, are running a big risk of prosecution for supplying these products. So in order for some companies to avoid prosecution in the future, they need to be creative with how they present products to the general public. Unfortunately this puts the consumer at greater risk as they do not know know to use products responsibly to minimize possible harm. If I were a conspiracy theorist (which admittedly I am), I'd say its almost as if the Gov (big Pharma) wants people being harmed by alternatives so they have justification to bring in more restrictions. Mean while people are dying in the thousands of pharmaceuticals which some how have been approved for use, even though they cause death. lofty86 I hope this addresses some of your issues and helps you get a better grasp of the situation. Unfortunately for vendors its a very fine line between informing the consumer and avoiding prosecution from the TGA. My recommendation is do your research on a product, and if your not sure, don't take it. No need to go around bagging people over forums just because you don't agree with their methods. You come across as vindictive when I'm sure that's not what you want. I know your hearts in the right place though. There is just a way to go about things. No love lost though .

I'm starting to want to move to NZ, the way things are heading here. I was quite surprised by the direction of this article. Common sense approach. Next they will want to decrim the real stuff. Well done NZ for being so progressive. http://www.bayofplentytimes.co.nz/have-your-say/news/kronic-less-risky-than-alcohol-but-merits-r18-rati/3948564/

Funny enough there is no mention of kronic on the abc or sbs news.

When I say Kronic i mean "Light Years" the creators of this product. It was just a matter of time before they made news headlines here. The way that this stuff is sold all over town and the internet its impossible not to know about the stuff. Its really being shoved in your face. Also, the fact that it's pushed in stores who would rarely get a customer over the age of 18 (No better than cigarettes and alcohol I know). Sure its not Light Years who are retailing the product themselves, however I'm sure they're happy with the distribution arrangements. The more spotlight on the product, the more they sell. A clever marketing tactic. This is like a free advertising opportunity. Much like when the sex pistols made the press in 70's. I think there's a saying, "All advertising is good advertising". I was expecting this media spree to happen for these reasons. They sure are good business men though. That can't be doubted.

and there's more here. http://www.perthnow.com.au/news/western-australia/fake-cannabis-a-concern-for-police/story-e6frg13u-1226036484202 Kronic sure do like the media spotlight. No wonder they're selling out all over town.

Now its on the news tonight. http://news.ninemsn.com.au/national/8234752/fake-weed-high-not-worth-the-risks-experts-warn

Here's a related article. legal-weed-ruined-my-life "The product usually contains the 1,1-dimethyloctyl homologue of the substance CP 47,497, a synthetic substantially similar to the main active component of cannabis tetrahydrocannabinol (THC)." I don't know if this is true or not but its interesting they mention this. I'm not sure how they can make this statement consider there is no research. "Kronic spokesman Ben Thompson said the product contained no ingredients that could create a dependence or cause psychological problems."

Since you ask Beehive Collective DO NOT sell these type of products online and BC DO NOT sell kronic. That's not to say that their marketing agent hasn't come in with his sales pitch trying to talk up the products he probably hasn't even tried. BC heard to many negative stories about kronic for us to even consider selling it. Sure there is a lot of money to be made selling this product particularly online, however this would go against the collectives morals and karma would kick us in the ass. We believe in minimizing harm where possible and online sale of these type of products is not the way to do such, in our opinion. So yes it is a major issue we have with kronic selling products online. Most people have no idea what this stuff is when they order online, as real information hard to source. Its mostly just hype from sellers.

Beauties as usual. These wont last long. Get in quick guys.

Thanks for the info. I did try to warn the organizers about this however they didn't seem to concerned and were happy for them to attend the event and peddle their junk. So my suspicions were true and they were trying to get rid of the last of their mephedrone they dug up prior to the event? Some people have no morals or ethics and its sickening. I gather they were selling to kids like back when they used to run their market stall? For anyone interested this has nothing to do with HHH but another vendor with a shady rep. How was the event other than the incidents? Live up to all the hype?

I always advise people that if you can get the real thing then your already on to a winner. Why try fix what aint broke? Cannabis is a miracle gift from mother nature that is the complete package. However, given the "nature" of things modern society, it's not always possible to utilize such gifts. In these situations herbal incense can be a viable alternative worthy of consideration. There are better and cheaper blends on the market than kronic if your willing to take the time to investigate. Lightyears are masters of marketing and will be one of the main causes for these being prohibited in Australia, just like whats happening in NZ. Much like how BZP was banned which they also heavily marketed, although in that case it was a good thing as BZP is toxic.

Personally I feel this is one of the most sensible pieces of legislation I have come across. I have heard of too many kids getting their hands on this powerful stuff and risking their health smoking it. I also agree that it is ridiculous that cannabis is illegal while these often stronger and potentially more dangerous blends are available over the internet without any ID ect. Unfortunately I feel this is just early initial legislation to preempt a blanket ban of these alternatives, rather than in the interest of childrens health.

government invests in tobacco to pay for government pensions

Also to pay for those anti smoking campaigns that make people want to smoke more. Disgusting article to read if its true which I don't doubt it is.
