  1. t st tranta was the first person I heard that smoked MAOI's and it would have been around that time.  

    Also you used to be able to purchase 2 different smoke mixes back then from my local herb shop. one was called Dream Time which later became Changa, the other was a 50 50 mix of caapi leaf and free base which got called Pau d'arco (name was used as a decoy) which I think was made by one of the guys before JP named Floyd. I don't take note and it's all from my memories so could be completely wrong.  

  2. I have harvested mine too early before. From my experience the seeds will be viable but for a bit shorter time.  And it also makes it harder to clean the seeds cos the samara tends to get stuck in the fruit. I find them a pain to clean anyways because they are so small, glasses on and good light helps. 

  3. Acacia phlebophylla has such a small geographic range, I think it would have pretty low genetic diversity anyways. maybe someone has done the work and someone knows. Countii is probably in the same boat, might be a bit better off cos there is more then one population.

  4. As far as Ps.cube goes I think it could displace natives but it would be really unlikely. for it to move from its niche into a forrest and live on native herbivore poo would be pretty rare but I'm not ruling it out. 


    as far as mushroom consciousness goes, I have no doubt mushroom have intelligence they have a complex relationships with heaps of organisms but I think human are pretty low on the list of importance. maybe I'm wrong. maybe they have been just killing time over the last 25 million years building connections with bacteria, yeasts , other fungi, insects, nematodes and herbivores etc. waiting for the one special human to come along so it can reveal themself to them. 


    we have such a human centric view of mushrooms we tend to anthropomorphise them. 


    my comment about mature fruit and open baskets is just the standard practice of mushroom cultures all around the world.

  5. I for sure have seen paddock over harvested to the point that once abundant areas are now scarce. you should only take mature fruit and carry fruit in a open basket to ensure spores are distributed

  6. there is a good fiction book that has a bit of language in it that's worth a read or listen. The Yield by Tara June Winch. Listening is good cos you get to hear the word for real and not try pronounce them yourself. 

    sign language was a pretty big part of some community's too.  

  7. Darklight is a legend!  Good with words too. And niggles we must live pretty close have to catch up some time. 


    check out these guys that are popping up everywhere after the fire. 




    I will go see if I can dig up a truffle this week some time.  I so want to eat one they smell so good! 

    Probably some Laccocephalum spp.  but can find a picture of any that fit.

    This is true. They can displace native birds also by nesting in hollow trees... but there honey tastes so good!  way better then sugar bag honey.

    Just imagine we could make mad aussie honey with Rhododendron lochiae or some other aussie grayanotoxin-containing plants.
