This ^ Boredom is wasted on the young, the lonely and the lazy. I also wish I had time to be bored. The importance of being idle.

When I was a young tacker I had a crush on a girl I'd see only occasionally around town. Maybe once or twice a year. I knew she lived relatively near me but it was completely random when I saw her. One day I was driving home and I was utterly compelled to visit a local shopping area as I might see her there. So I did. I drove to the newsagents there, despite not really needing anything to buy and low and behd she walked into the newsagents! I totally froze up and didn't talk to her. I vowed from that day on the next time I saw her I would say hello no matter what. About a year later I see her, in the same shopping area. This time as luck would have it I saw her while sitting in a bloody hairdressers getting my hair cut! I had that robe on and locks of hair everywhere. She glanced me a nice look. 'no matter what' I had told myself. Well I couldn't exactly jump out onto the street looking like that. So I had found out her name previously (another long story full of syncronicity - but in essence I was thinking about her one day while reading the paper and next page she was pictured in a local hockey team - I remembered her name). I went home looked through the white pages and rang her up. She of course had no idea who I was except the guy getting a haircut - but we ended ip chatting for 2 hours. She was a cool girl. I didn't up dating her cuz she had to leave that night to go back abd study in another city but I Was glad everything went the way it did. She was no longer a stranger and about 2 years later she transferred to back to our hometown and went to my uni. I had just broken up with a long term relationship. I naturally pounced on her and got her. Syncronicity man, whatever it is, it would never have happened had I not been compelled to visit the shopping area all those years back. I still to this day don't know why my brain was forcing me to go there - how it could know...or more logically it didn't know but was subliminally suggesting the best location I could meet her.

The Only Way to Stop Illegal Immigration
botanika replied to pete34's topic in Sustainable Technologies & Ethical Living
Immigration is a much broader topic than illegal immigrants. Not much you can do about it now, it's highly political, the MSM will not address it and most people don't even care or understand about the long term implications of preserving or mixing cultures and race. 'We're all one big happy family' 'we're all the same' blah blah blah, politically correct but niave rhetoric. Illegal immigrants are ultimately small fish in relation to the broader trend of whats happening as overindustrialized 1st world countries slowly dillute into overpopulated 3rd world countries, except for places like China or Israel which have a priority towards being racially homogenous. One thing to consider is that no person (like no plant species) should ever be labelled 'illegal'. -

Theres more people on the planet. I'm not sure about dumbing down or degradation - the 60's had plenty of that - but its a business and naturally small companies become large companies and profit often comes first. But you don't even need to have a record company or art gallery these days with the internet and some of my favourite art has been from completely random sources on youtube or some guy busking on the street. I am constantly inspired. Life is a canvas and art fills it in.

It's a very old symbol representing the vortex. It was also used throughout europe in ancient times and may probably originated there 1st and not asia.

Wearing a push up bra is missrepresenting yourself. Women are the complete masters of playing manipulation games with dating or relationships and men should not have much hesitation about also manipulating things to ultimately get closer to a women. Women are always engineering the situation by how they dress, behave, test us and choose partners (it can be markedly different to what men choose and often vastly different to what hollywood movies depict). Respect women but make no excuses for being a man.

EG - It's very true women sense a man's nervousness straight away whereas if you approach with a super confident attitude YOU are the prize and if she doesn't like you it's her loss, you will succeed anyway, it usually works. Practice makes perfect. Anyway that's another topic all together haha. My first post was just a suggestion, get back on the saddle and all that..

Exactly. It could be just talking to some women, opening a door for them with a smile, meet some new people. Being in love is healthy and life is short. Anyone who says getting into a new relationship will lead to more anxiety is just reinforcing their own insecurities. The future is full of awesome opportunities - take them. If your hanging around people who get you down, seek out successful people. Also try some self hypnosis tapes. I've got a couple and if I ever can't sleep I put them on and they work very well at relaxing your body and getting you breathing deeply as well as reinforcing positive values in yourself and others.

Anxiety is NOT necessarily a bad thing. Stop talking about it like it's some kind of illness or sickness or condition. You only give it power that way. Try picking up some girls and getting a new love. Fear only holds you back, get out of your past life and comfort zone and conquer your future. Want to move on from your last relationship and feel good about your new job? Talk to as many women as you can, talk to as many people in your new job as you can. Anxiety is the cause of the greatest moments of my life not the worst. It's natural for your body to get nervous before doing something new - it's hardwired into us - so use it to your advantage.

Yeah I think it's better to post just the pictures showing habitat, mulch type and micro climate. They are all over Canberra really as long as you can find the right types of locations at the right time. One could very easily find what they are looking for with muds description without actual places names i.e. 'near playing fields that have pines or casuarinas, in mulched garden beds that are reasonable moist'.

What is the weirdest thing you have ever seen?
botanika replied to Halcyon Daze's topic in Chill Space
Not really weird but perhaps a little kharma. The other week in shanghai I was crossing a zebra crossing/traffic lights with the green walk symbol beaming bright. Guy in a hummer burns around the corner and almost runs me over. As he passes me cutting me off I slammed my fist into the car out of frustration. He stops the car instantly right on the zebra crossing, gets out and proceeds to swear at me. I point at the still green walk symbol abd keep walking without saying a thing. He follows me in a threatening way continually swearing (in English). I point to the green walk symbol again. Meanwhile his hummer has rolled slowly across the intersection without it's handbrake on and gently nudges into a parked police car. I then point him towards his car with 2 policeman now surrounding it. Too funny. -
Incredible. Good health to you.
