wish I could make it, have fun

I'm kind of at the beginning of my second week and am having some progress. Holds are longer, showers are fun, the cold hot cold etc is great, each progressive cold is easier and doing the breathing at the same time today I didn't notice the coldness of the cold at all. During one of the breathing cycles this morning I had a spontaneous intense heat experience which I wasn't expecting. I imagine that is what we'll consciously be generating and directing later on.

Cold snap about to hit melb. Good training weather ;)

Hope to make it on the 2nd. Will let you know.

yeah, but, whatsit have to do with the Wim Hof method?
-
I'm still not sure how this relates to the topic at hand. My mention of full body bliss earlier was a description of a physiological experience. I'm not particularly worried about where it came from. It felt good. How does an idea of true light relate to wimhof?
-
If you find the time just msg me. I grew up in highett, a longer walk/ride to the beach but we were down at half moon every other day during the warmer months. I'm now a quick jog from elwood beach or a short walk off the north road pier ;) Someone was doing some cold training off the boat ramp there the other day, they didn't look like they were wimhofing! Looked decidedly uncomfortable.

Sounds the same. I felt like I got a bit out of it but that was a long long time ago. That's probably similar to what I was coming up against. Yep, it passes Yeah, its a big draw card. In this day and age it inspires confidence in a system. Also hes happy to put his abilities up for show and scrutiny which is great. I'm in the inner south, close to the beach now. If you want to come down and test yourself one morning in the ocean before you head north let me know

It didn't cause offence. I'm not sure how it relates to the topic at hand though. Are you implying that we are fucking up our souls, planetary bodies, small baby animals and whatnot? If so, that is kind of offensive that you are telling us that breathing and improving our physical/mental/emotional health is detrimental without a clear explanation why. Maybe you need to consider what is being discussed and come in on a similar level.

What does any of this mean though? break it down.

The circular breath (in out with no break) is the foundation of the rebirthing technique developed by Leonard Orr in the 70s which I think they just call breath work these days. Only they don't stop after 20-40 breaths but keep going till uncomfortable physical and emotional symptoms come up and they keep going till they dissipate. I did some training in this a long long time ago and one of the weekends had a focus on overcoming fear of the cold where we did this technique progressively ending out into the sea (during the middle of winter), two people doing the breath, looking at each other to keep the focus and motivation. It was difficult till the moment my head went under and then it was a full body bliss experience. That was unexpected because I had spent the prior week going for morning swims to gear myself up for it and didn't experience anything approaching that. That week and weekend showed me that same thing you mention about how much of our reaction to cold is mind based. Of course, thats easy to forget Tibetan yogis have a practise called Tummo where through breath techniques (which can also involve long periods of breath retention) they're able to generate heat in the body and survive in low temperature conditions. Good if you're in a cave or monastery in winter with no heating. Besides the yoga/excercise he uses learning yantra yoga would be a good adjunct I think as they use techniques so you can get very specific about where and how you can hold the breath(in kumbhaka/vase breath) in certain places as an aid for meditation. I just had a go at the 1st bit of the WimHof and it definitely builds up charge in the body quickly. I reckon I'll try it out and see how it goes. I like that he's using yoga as part of his system. As mentioned earlier the body can get very uncomfortable doing this kind of stuff so I like moving/jiggling/shaking to loosen some of the charge before going in again.

See a doctor and try and get it off script or if you're working shift you may be able to do a sleep evaluation and get it on the PBS.

I'm out for a little while, moving house in a few weekends so have a lot to organise. I'll be back on board for any meets come May. That being said if anyone is around Coburg area and wants a few small cacti for free just msg me. The less I have to take with me the easier the move will be
