erythrina vespertilo seed free batswing coral tree
withdrawl clinic posted a topic in Australian Native Plants
hi! I can give away a few of those seeds. 1st australiens held them in highest regard, used for making shields (lightweight, and absorbs impact). timber light as balsa wood for model making. seeds and other parts used to make sedative portions (same as the south American cousin of this tree), as well used for ornamental properties on weapons an spiritual & magic purposes! -
organic, is just a word, the molecules, would look the same regardless of how they were manufactured. very important is though, to use the right mix for the specific plant. some plant need high drainage, some low. some need lots of fert, some not. some plant like acid soil, some like alkaline. I use a lot of 100% worm castings, no lime added.

not a good idea anyway, the leaves of this plant don't process well. much better to use bark, or even the leaves of the grass, hehe. but sure it can be done, with ease...

Gimli's Beezness
withdrawl clinic replied to Gimli's topic in Sustainable Technologies & Ethical Living
sorry to say, I don't like those bee's! they compete with native bees & insects for food, honey bee's are bullie's compared to native bee's, and not as good pollinators!! -
don't press the panic button, mate.. my plant's look, far worse. sun opener is super drought resistant!

when I destroyed my acacias, I could not help but to notice, the distinctive fragrance of some of them. my question, to you who else can tell, just by the smell? if more people say, yep I can smell it as well, than we could say, we do this like other people taste fine wine, from not so good wine...

bird watching stories nature observations
withdrawl clinic posted a topic in Sustainable Technologies & Ethical Living
hi! in my small town, we got a lot of birds. at times, I talk on the phone, and people remark, to you have an aviary? so I say: birds are direct ancestors of dinosaurs, many of them can fight. there brain is, small but contain a very good cpu! a small bird can take, a smaller 180 bend, and it saves it's life. once, I saw a fairy wren doing he's court ship dance! he was dancing his butt off, jumping and hopping, displaying his feathers, in an MTV, style of way. the small bird had cleaned a small area for his performance, some was bare rock (gabbro) some cleared red soil. the male was dancing, and three female suitors appeared, out of nowhere. lil wren, had chosen his stage well, the girls, watched him dance from the savety, of some low hanging branches of a, brachichiton acerfolius. me thinks he was lucky, flying of with a female suitor. -
