Leaves Posted August 14, 2013 Pretty looking cacti, anyone done any bioessays on these???
bogfrog Posted August 14, 2013 Not why I'm interested in the genus. At all. It makes me very sad to think of people consuming these beauties. From what I remember from the encylopedia of psychoactive plants it causes people to go crazy and fall off cliffs.. Some plants demand respect.

bogfrog Posted August 14, 2013 If they do, they do. I suppose. It just seems kinda disrespectful to me, when a plant is older than you, to just munch it to quench your curiosity I think you'd need a pretty fucking undeniable signal with an ariocarpus.

Optimystic Posted August 17, 2013 (edited) it was the only one that didn't pump right away I didn't see any damage... now I think something took a bite in the last few days, as can be seen right below the original tip... that original tip is not stalled any longer and im concerned those two heads are too close eh... no damage was visible before that root thing grew out and then formed the extra heads... but it took a while for any growth to show, it was stalled for a month or two this is a pic after about 40 days from time of graft and this is how he looked after about two months... was grafted on 4/26, Edited August 17, 2013 by Spine Collector

Hellonasty Posted September 23, 2013 (edited) Not kidding mate. Google search variegated Ariocarpus you will see what I mean, the species is variable in variegation colour, orange/red is one of the more common. bogfrog Posted October 12, 2013 Well i just had probably the most humbling experience of my life.. I contacted an elderly grower recently enquiring about purchasing some ariocarpus plants from him, And he simply gifted me these two fissuratus plants. Of all the cacti in the world, ariocarpus fissuratus is the one that makes me swoon. These two plants were sown in 1994, making them 19 years old, only 3 years younger than myself. I cant believe the generosity, after seeking mature fissuratus for the entire time i have been collecting, to be gifted two gorgeous plants - its incredible really. I will treasure these until the day that i die
