deepdarkmind Posted April 30, 2006 Hi, this is my first post of what I hope will be many. Great site everyone. I'm new to shamanism, although I have done A LOT of reading, unfortunatly I don't have much experience. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm looking forward to changing the way I see the world. First off I have a cacti that I bought for $5, on a hunch, at a flea market in Melbourne's western suburbs. I have know idea how to identify it. Is there an identification key for succulents that I might be able to download from somewhere? Thanks
occidentalis Posted April 30, 2006 That's a Cereus, probably C. peruvianus. Very common. Not very interesting ethnobotanically, but makes a pretty good fence post.

occidentalis Posted May 3, 2006 is anyone aware of any other edible cacti fruits?? id love to add them to the edibles in my collection. I've heard that lophophora fruits are quite sweet, although a little small to be much nutritional value . I guess most people like getting seeds from their lophs also.
