Guest Mexicali Posted February 14, 2006 Here's some pics of one of my Fissurati. Habitat collected (surprisingly), this plant was legally imported to Australia back in 1979....don't you wish you could still import plants...? As far as age goes, it's a few hundred years old, has three main heads and three little ones popping from the side of the root (sorry about my photography skills). It flowers every year abundantly and is the main plant I use for seed production (surprisingly again) The specimen has won numerous awards in competitions and is my pride and joy It sits in a 50cm pot It has NEVER been top-watered, hence its 6 cm cephallum!!! Enjoy the pics!!!

Guest Mexicali Posted February 23, 2006 when you bottom water your ariocarpus do you just sink an inch or two of the pot into a tub of water water or something for 10 seconds? Yes, but not for 10 secconds...it's in a huge pot so I leave it for about an hour on hot nights.
