Some pics with a few ID's needed

Hi everyone,

When it comes to cacti I am still partially retarded.

Nothing spectacular but thought I might post a few pics.

My first TBM pup:

This pup has come from nowhere and in the few days since the pic was taken has doubled in size.

Do TBM pups usually develop this quickly?

Secondly an identified trich, the source I acquired it from seemed to think it was a macrogonus I thought it looks more like a peruvianus:

Finally a comparison of some peruvianus and pachanoi cuttings planted at the same time:

I know this is sacrilige and I am asking for trouble but I have these guys growing in regular potting mix in self watering pots. They are however in an extremely harsh environment. i.e. top floor terra cotta balcony with no overhead cover being blasted by hot air from an aircon exhaust fan.

Interestingly the pachanoi cuttings pupped about a week before the peruvianus, the are only half the size.

Is this normal?

They look OK!

Nothing seems abnormal about the plants or your description of their growth.

I think the 3rd photo is probably cuzcoensis and your peruvianus are of the kk242 variety.

Healthy looking plants you have there Dom.

If you would like to know a bit more info about Macrogouns & Peruvianus I recommend popping over to the nook and reading Michaels (M S Smith, if you didnt know) thoughts on this subject which is pinned.

I also have found that the smaller the cuttings diameter the quicker they pup...but they have to be a nice Length Vs Diameter - just what i have found..
