indigo264nm Posted January 14, 2006 Hey everybody, At this current point in my life I'm interesting in trying to identify and overcome some issues and barriers in my life and just wanted to know if anybody has read some stuff on the use of psychedelics in psychotherapy and can recommend anything. Also, somebody mentioned once about the treatment of Eating Disorders using Psilocybin and just want to know if somebody can track down that article\paper for me??? Cheers, Chris. gerbil Posted January 14, 2006 Tihkal and Pihkal are possibilities to an extent. Maybe search for Ann's work on MDMA, i haven't seen it anywhere but haven't looked either. I haven't fully read it, have to go back and read it from the start, but maybe look into some of Stanislav Grof books on LSD psychotherapy, Realms of the human unconscious: observations from LSD research is the one i've got. I think that may be the first in a series of books on the same of similar matters. I'm pretty sure there were a fair few follow on books listed somewhere in that book. Might give me some basis of a way to approach a psychedelic session in order to remove some barriers. Either that or the other thought I'm toying with is just to try aya and hopefully blow the barriers completely out of the water. Anybody had any luck with such??? faustus Posted January 14, 2006 yeah LSD psychotherapy by grof is a fantastic read, nice and in-depth. also, go to http://www.maps.org/research/ they've got a very good archive of papers on current research and rationale behind MDMA, psilocybin, ibogaine etc. i vaguely recall some pilot study by strassman into psilocybin and eating disorders that was eventually terminated. the other one is psilocybin and OCD, don't know exactly where they are with that though. and i think later this year a study of MDMA and PTSD involving a larger sample will start in the US. neuro -- i've found aya very therapeutic, have only tried it twice (where it's legal, of course) .. after each session i made 2 important changes in my life... so 2 from 2!
