Guest Thelema Posted November 17, 2002 help! is fruiting solely temp related, or by way of increase in certain gases etc?
squiresk Posted November 17, 2002 Light, in some cases and the exhaustion of substrate/nutrient. Time to reproduce Oysters respond to a drop in CO2. When the CO2 drops they know they're out in the open, as with the light for Cubensis and a spray of pinheads/abhorts over mycelium may also trigger fruiting. So I've heard. Guest reville Posted November 17, 2002 GEEEzuS I dont believe i just read that! While its true that pinhead extracts can trigger fruiting in some species, simply mushing up pinheads will most likely just ruin your whole bed by causing a massive bacterial outbreak! technically correct but not a low tech solution, sorry if it wasnt meant to sound so simple but it seemed to sound that way. try cold shock or decreased CO2 definitely
spiders Posted November 17, 2002 Yeah, temps, light and air exchange are the main ones. If the substrate is fully colonised and its being stubborn, cold shocking is often the way to go. But in the right conditions, most mushrooms should eventually fruit.
