jasemateau Posted April 11, 2005 ok the winter season is getting a bit close. so when do all of you guys decide its now time to stop watering? has temperature have much to do with it? like when an overnight temp gets to say 5c would this be a numeric indicater? what indicaters do some of you crew use? teo? thanks in advance!!! shroomy Posted April 11, 2005 if your likely to get temps at or below 0c or any type of frosty weather than its definetly time to stop watering. this will cause the cacti to freeze and destroy cells. up your way i cant imagine that happening so you could prolly keep watering and fertilizing right thru winter. teonanacatl Posted April 11, 2005 one other reason to overwinter is because they can etioliate from the less intense sun. dont know how cold it gets in brissy though, ask gomaos hes around there. cut back on watering and no ferts so you dont force the growth.
