Halcyon Daze Posted September 17, 2016 (edited) So who are the heroes and villans you're related to? I'm always amazed to hear the stories of some of my ancestors. Makes me wonder if some of their character strengths/flaws have carried through to me. For instance, I think I have acquired the spirit of exploration and adventure from one of my relatives John Bechervaise, an antarctic explorer. And the civil rights mindset of the victorian era social reformer Josephine Butler. And as for the original 'Earl Grey', well his famous tea is up there in my top 3 of all time! Strontium Dawg Posted September 18, 2016 Apparently my family tree is full of highwaymen and polygamists. But one of my ancestors came out on the Sirius as a midshipman. My next door neighbour has one of the cannons from the Sirius in his backyard. Another one of my ancestors was press ganged into the German navy, and he jumped overboard and swam ashore, he survived the bush and settled near Jervis Bay.
