sagiXsagi Posted March 5, 2016 (edited) Wow these last rains had the weeds explode! Enjoy the semi-neglected style of my collection, partly caused of my back problems the last 3 months.. on the bright side its the part of season fewer things happen I should be potting some of them in the soil at last, but I am hesitant as its not my own land. terscheckii seed grown, seed from some awesome nooker lofies most of them are caespitosa and yes I left them exposed to the winter with, minimal it seems damage.. some of them were even recently rooted.. pasacanas + terschekiis the kada clone, altmans clone, showing both columnar and crest monstrosity . my original mother plant which i heavily cut in the past true blue from israel and other peruvianus and macrogonus types freshly rooted melted wax's random shot of protected spot. a chiloensis TPCs with lots of weeds KK339 always got lots of pasacanas Edited March 5, 2016 by sagiXsagi

spooge Posted March 6, 2016 Fantastic cacti Sagi, some damn fine plants man. Do you feed them much in the growing season? What do you plant to do about all the weeds?
sagiXsagi Posted March 6, 2016 zelly, lol, didn't notice it, even though its a pasacana olive I dont fert at all. I did that the 2nd season a bit. So they grow alright in their potting soil until they get root bound What I indend to do with weeds. well. not watering works well to kill most of them if your in the high heat. de-weeding during transplanting work well too, as many of them need transplanting theoretically. the positioning should also be taken into account so that deweeding is easier TH> do purple carpenter bees like tricho flowers? I have not idea mate, I wouldnt think any bees go out at night though but all in all, I think one should learn to live with weeds and not over obsess if the cacti are exposed throughout the year. planting chives might also be a good idea - or other wanted companion plant (f.e mandrakes) that will prevent other weeds to colonise a pot.
