mutant Posted April 19, 2015 (edited) 1. Cereus sp. came as "aetiopica" , I think its C. aethiops 2. Clone of nursery origin and of unknow genus / species, according to cactusart its mostly sold as Azureocereus sp. and its obviously a crest of a largish columnar Any ideas? 0 Evil Genius Posted April 20, 2015 Yes, the second plant (the cereus) is not a cereus but a Pilosocereus. Could be Pilosocereus Gounelli.
0 Evil Genius Posted April 20, 2015 The first one could be a Lophocereus Schotti monstruosa.
0 mutant Posted April 20, 2015 Thanks for the pilosocereus idea... I was thinking about this too..
0 Evil Genius Posted April 21, 2015 Hey Mutant, can you make better pics of them so I can see the spination a little bit better. I think it´s totally similar to this type of Lophocereus monstrose but I need to see the spination to rule anything out. Does it start reddening? Has it hairs? http://www.cactus-art.biz/schede/LOPHOCEREUS/Lophocereus_schotii/Lophocereus_schotti_cristata/Lophocereus_schottii_cristata.htm
0 mutant Posted April 21, 2015 The 1st one is a new-comer, hasnt had the chance to pump/grow yet. Yes there is reddening / purpling... It does look somewhat similar, but I dont think so... The spination seems longer and the body shape more blue than green. Also it came with name which could be right. Will try to take better pics next time.. You need pics for the 2nd one too? thats the one http://www.cactus-art.biz/schede/AZUREOCEREUS/Azureocereus_sp/Azureocereus_sp_cristata/Azureocereus_sp_cristata.htm

0 Evil Genius Posted April 24, 2015 Definitely not Azureocereus. It´s Pilosocereus.

0 mutant Posted May 11, 2015 Here's the close up for number one.. its pumped a bit now and wtf?!? there are 3-4 buds forming, not sure if this is a cereus bud or even if a cereus could flower so small ... no there's no hairs, I dont think its that Lophocereus crest you mentioned EG..
