zelly Posted March 8, 2015 I've had this Oroya borchersii for numerous years and after it bloomed like mad last year I read some where that Matucana madisoniorum was an acceptable pollen donor. So this year I placed it right next to a group of M madisoniorum and lo & behold they both flowered right at the same time. fresh out of the hospital, hopping around on one foot & in a lot of pain, I tweezered a few grains of M m pollen onto the pistil of a single open flower. Hot damn, i think I got me a fruit
Evil Genius Posted March 8, 2015 Hey Zelly, Matucana´s are great pollen donors for all kinds of hybrids. I have a huge Trichocereus Thelegonus x Matucana hybrid and i´ve heard about numerous people making similar crosses. So maybe try breeding it with San Pedro.
