MrDoRight Posted February 17, 2015 My area for mushroom planting is 20ftX3ft and receives low sunlight. I've got poor draining soil which easily floods into a bog , so Its gonna be a few weeks before getting the ground leveled to the proper 3-5 inches required for quick mushroom growth. During these few weeks I'm wondering if I should use a SGFC to colonize spawn using the woodchips I'm planting in the garden. Or if its best to leave the colonized spawn alone until my yard is fully established with plants , good soil and a drip system , that way the mycelium can be planted without getting disturbed. My desired goal is to have the mycelium colonizing my yard by April 7th.
