shonman Posted February 17, 2015 (edited) Every few years, some news article trots out the info that 'Coffee contains an opiate, even decaf.' This year, they say it's stronger than 'more fiend.' Does anyone know about this? Just curious. How might this substance be isolated? Any Ideas? http://rt.com/news/226091-coffee-protein-morphine-brazil/ Edited February 17, 2015 by shonman
Alice Posted February 17, 2015 (edited) I hadn't heard about it, but it looks as though the origins of this research goes back decades: http://scholar.google.com.au/scholar?q=opiate+peptides+coffee&btnG=&hl=en&as_sdt=0%2C5 Very interesting.
