MORG Posted January 30, 2015 Does anyone have some rooted and supple pereskiopsis? None of that old woody stuff. Looking +/- 6 plants. I've got some bebeh cacti that could do with a graft. We can talk cash or trade.
Gimli Posted January 30, 2015 I don't have any young/supple pere for sale but can I ask why the older stuff isn't sought after, is it not good for grafting the more it ages?
Brendo Posted January 30, 2015 By woody I assume he means peres grown in full sun, which is usually thick, full of spines and a pain to graft with. If grown in a higher humidity, part shade environment there are virtually no spines and the plant itself is generally juicier. What this means is when sliced for grafting, the cut almost leaks goo out of the wound which acts like a glue to hold the grafted seedling in place. This is my understanding of it anyway, hope this helps.
