rottenjonny Posted November 18, 2014 Hi guys, had this given to me as a gift and have no idea what it could be. Has recently started growing big dildo's out it's sides so I though that may help identification. Let me know if you have any ideas.
0 theuserformallyknownasd00d Posted November 18, 2014 Cereus peruvianus I dare say, maybe one of the other cereus but looks like it'll be the typical "night bloomer"

0 rottenjonny Posted November 18, 2014 So after some quick googling it seems I might even get edible fruit from Cereus peruvianus. That's a bonus And they have the potential to get HUGE!! Thanks guys
0 coolname Posted November 18, 2014 You should get some fruit if there is another cereus around to cross pollinate it. I am pretty sure they can't pollinate themselves
0 Dreamwalker. Posted November 19, 2014 (edited) yeah you need some pollen from another plant..opens at dusk closed my midday..1 chance only .any of your trich's flowering..that can work...but cereus pollen is best.....& the fruit is awesome........ they split open when ripe............... find a few mates for it.... 0 mutant Posted November 23, 2014 looks like a lot like what is quite common in my region as an ornamental not a C. peruvianus I would say, cereus hildmannianus could be one good guess name for this almost spineless cereus, eg might know more names for spineless cerei
