Slocombe Posted October 13, 2014 (edited) Yep. The ATO does this (they at least ask you first). In Australia my voice identifies me. Edited October 13, 2014 by GHBeer
in_spirit Posted October 13, 2014 It is getting that way that the only way forward for humanity, not for tyrrany, is tos top the advancements we have made, if hackers ( for example, hacked every system, shut down the internet, crash the bank servers and their backups, then we find ourselves with aout a finance system, the wealthy are stripped back to the same level as those that are lower than the poverty line, the same servers storing all the data wipe out all they know about us, and the people of the world would find themselves free at last...
ThunderIdeal Posted October 14, 2014 i'm having trouble coming up with a downside to this. it might hinder people who are trying to change society from the wrong side of the law, anarchist activists or the like. it might be a problem if courts deem that a quote unquote "match" holds up and proves that you spoke those words even if nothing else indicates that you did. the average person will benefit by not having their identity stolen, assets disappeared and life ruined. they will be able to prove their own identity easier, and it will be harder for imposters. in addition to the fingerprint scanners included in the most expensive current smartphones (which to my knowledge can be fooled by a saved fingerprint eg doesn't have to be on a finger) a voice scanner could be included without any extra hardware. Dreamwalker. Posted October 15, 2014 (edited) so often with things there's pro's & cons.............personally I prefer less rather than more surveillance & my identity profile being collected & stored/used without my permission........basically its theft, regardless of how it might be used. How many times do you hear" this message is being recorded for evaluation of service" or the like? ..here's another potential long time collector? Voice search: Google has numbers on who, why, where another reason to avoid us based services.......... I prefer to use https://duckduckgo.com/ Edited October 15, 2014 by Dreamwalker.
