gerbil Posted September 20, 2003 My sister has just got back from spending time in Sweden, and brought some kind of oral tobacco, which is supposedly a strong narcotic (yet legal in sweden lol) "swedish gothiatek snuff" though it's not a snuff, your supposed to place it and keep it in your gums. this is the site on the label generalsnus.com here are the ingredients (from online translator) Water, tobacco, moist preserver??, koksalt and surhetsreglerande medel I can't find translations for the last two. They smell awful, and my sister said she sucked one, got really dizzy and vomited. If anyone can understand swedish, could they possibly go through that site, and see if they mention what type of tobacco they use. I'm thinking nicotiana rustica, but speculation is just that. thankyou gerbil edit: just found a site www.gothiatek.com [ 20. Ashoka Posted September 20, 2003 Hi, I'm a Dane and understand swedish. The last two are: Koksalt = Sodium nitrate (cooking salt) and surhetsreglerande medel = some sort of acid regulating substance, perhaps sodium bicarbonate. Snuff or in Swedish Snus is not for the faint hearted, if you're not a smoker you'll surely get sick. I love the stuff though, and indulge whenever I visit Sweden. The smell is something like cow manure right.. Lovely stuff.. Hejsan du, Ashoka

Ashoka Posted September 21, 2003 Yep, you're right Torsten.. My fault koksalt = Sodium Chloride it's called Natrium klorid in Danish/Swedish, maybe that's why I got it mixed up
gerbil Posted October 1, 2003 thanks for the info guys, Ash, yeah does smell a bit manure-ish not the most pleasant of smells. Well i am a non smoker, and will not be using the entire pack, so if anyone wants a couple of doses please pm me asap, supposedly they don't keep for too long after being opened. Please remember to include an address to the pm so i can send them out the following day. Prefer australian residents, as i'm not too sure on the legal status of it in other countries. up for grabs
Ed Dunkel Posted October 1, 2003 I tried some "snus" as well (swedish friends) but it was the girly type, wrapped up like a little tea bag. Horrible stuff, I couldn't keep it in my mouth longer than a few minutes. It stings your gums. I even had to move it around in my mouth to reduce the stinging and in order to lengthen the absorbance . Quite a strong nicotine buzzzz tho' Might try it sober next time. Papa Somnia Posted October 22, 2003 Modifications, corrections: Isn't cooking salt sodium chloride?[/QB] Koksalt derives from the tradition that KNO3 or NaNO3 were used to salt fish. At least, a revealance to your inmates when compared to smoking of the same shit revealance .. I think Im in the wrong lead now .. revealance ... Let's just say it's more humane for your inmates and friends to use snuff (U use it, they don't)than smoke tobacco. Always consider other people as well ! [ 21.
